I grew up with the home computer.

In the pre-PC days, my father worked for a software company in St. Louis, Missouri that ran rooms full of huge servers, that in turn operated terminals all over the country. When the first Apple’s and PC’s hit the market, things began to change. One of the first portable (and I use this term loosely) IBM’s to roll off the line would come home with my dad fairly regularly, and I spent hours in the orange glow of the tiny built in monitor playing old text adventure games.

Fast forward to the early days of the Internet. I was instantly hooked. Here was a way to take anything and make it immediately available to the entire world (or at least to the quickly growing number of those with Internet access). I began to take classes in HTML, later learning to use other technology to build more dynamic sites such as ASP and PHP/MySQL.

In the past eight years, I’ve seen many generations of coding standards, browsers and design trends and have found a comfortable style for myself. My projects are content oriented. When I’m browsing the web, I’m looking for content. In my mind the viewer should be able to easily navigate the site and quickly find everything they are looking for. I strive to make my sites quick loading with little or no Flash or client-side scripting. I use style sheets where appropriate and check for compliance on many mainstream browsers.

Whether you have a complete vision of your dream site or need help putting together the pieces, I will work with you to be sure your site reflects what you want on the web.
